Updated: September 10, 2025 • Split 2 mid-season balance, modes, and QoL

The mid-season update for Season 26 delivers impactful Legend balance, weapon tuning, Locked Hop-Up adjustments, a Duos overhaul, Ranked scoring changes, and a raft of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.

Balance Updates

EVO Harvesters (Previous Hotfix)

  • Spawn rate increased to 10–11 depending on map size (was 7–8)
  • Reduced likelihood of multiple Harvesters spawning in a single POI

Ring Exploit Prevention

  • Adjusted to prevent system abuse

Legend Updates

Assault Class

  • Stowed Reload: time to reload while stowed increased to 4s (was 2s)

Ash (Nerfs)

Abilities

  • Passive – Predator’s Pursuit: Dash cooldown 12s (was 8s); less boost when not dashing in movement direction
  • Tactical – Arc Snare: Breaks more easily; duration 6s (was 8s); weaker pull; no extra shield damage

Upgrades

  • Removed: Dual Breach, Marked for Death
  • New: Longer Reach (+25m Phase Breach range), Ultimate Cooldown (–30s)
Dev Note: Ash stayed top-tier even after prior nerfs; longer dash cooldown and the removal of Dual Breach create more counterplay.

Caustic

  • Nox Gas damage ramps more slowly (increases every 2 ticks, was every tick)
  • Removed aim punch when taking gas damage
Dev Note: Keeps Caustic viable while making gas less punishing to fight through.

Mad Maggie (Buffs & QoL)

  • Tactical – Riot Drill: 10% faster firing animation; fires immediately on release
  • Ultimate – Wrecking Ball: 25% faster throw; better obstacle handling; explosions up to 25 damage (was 20); lifetime 7s (was 10s); speed pads last 20s (was 60s), give Fortified and last 3.5s per use; deactivate 6s for the user after use; no longer drops pads on final explosion
  • Upgrades: Shots Shots Shots removed; Gunrunning (passive speed also for SMGs & Pistols) and Fire Ball (magma trail; Maggie takes 50% less fire damage) added
Dev Note: More reliable execution and better team utility for pushes and rotations.

Seer (Major Rework & Buff)

Passive & Tactical

  • Passive – Heart Seeker: Range now 75m baseline; unified heartbeat; improved UI/audio; clearer directional waveforms
  • Tactical – Focus of Attention: 60% faster holster on use; grants 4s speed boost on scan; scan duration 4s (was 2.5); slow 1s (was 0.5); silence 2.5s (was 8s); cooldown 20s (was 30s); 1s pre-scan delay; clearer VFX/AOE

Ultimate – Exhibit & Upgrades

  • Exhibit: Throw range ~50m (was 15m), radius 38m (was 34m); enhanced jump & ADS hover inside; new enemy threat indicator near center; easier long-throws via pitch adjust
  • Upgrades: Artist’s Reach & Long View folded into base kit; new Lasting Beats (tracks leavers 5s), Home Base (Tac recharges 4× faster inside Exhibit), Energizing Focus (+25 shields on Tac hit); Split Focus no downside
Dev Note: More in-combat value without the oppressive feel of older Seer metas.

Sparrow

  • Tactical – Tracker Dart: Tracking duration 12s (was 15); new aim VFX for beacon activation
  • Ultimate – Stinger Bolt: Bolt HP 400 (was 550); now slows Sparrow & allies; clearer aim trajectory; Extra Traps gives +1 in world
Dev Note: Reduces frustration (easier Bolt break) and lock-down, plus QoL for aiming.

  • Gold Magazine: stowed reload 4s (was 2s)
  • Locked Hop-Ups:
    • Accelerator unlock points 300 (was 150); removed from Peacekeeper, L-Star, Alternator; added to G7 Scout, CAR, Flatline
    • Graffiti Mod 425 (was 300); added to Mastiff
    • Gun Shield Generator 375 (was 250)
    • Selectfire Receiver 375 (was 250)
    • Skullpiercer 600 (was 400)
    • Turbocharger 600; for Havoc & Devotion
Dev Note: Higher thresholds delay early power spikes while keeping mid-late consistency.

Weapon Tuning

  • Devotion LMG: removed purple-barrel turbocharge perk
  • Bocek Bow: full-draw time 0.35s (was 0.45s); improved hip-fire spread
  • Wingman: body damage 50 (was 48); Skullpiercer multiplier 1.92× (was 2.0×) — headshot remains 96
  • Mastiff: increased pre-fire delay on draw
  • Peacekeeper: larger blast pattern when choked
  • RE-45 Burst (Prev. Hotfix): smaller projectile size; –3 mag across tiers; higher recoil

  • Wild Iron: Sept 16–30, 2025 — Kings Canyon; Rampart care packages with Mythic Flatline; explosive loot focus; added EPG drops; 8 Replicator Wild Cards (Crackerjack, Down Bad, Extra Ordnance, Good Doctor, Gren-Aid, Sent Packing, Shield’s Up, Stowed Reload)
  • Core: Sept 30–Oct 14, 2025

Ranked Changes

  • Entry Cost removed from Ranked Ladder scoring — RP now purely reflects in-match performance
Dev Note: Creates fair cross-tier comparison by removing rank-specific cost variance.

Bug Fixes & Quality of Life

  • Ammo notifications fixed after Infinite Ammo Amp drops
  • Improved map-ping accuracy while zoomed
  • Locked Hop-Ups: string fixes; points no longer reset on Ballistic sling swap; function correctly after Firing Range respawns
  • “No Ammo” no longer shows when knockdown shield breaks
  • Players spawn with primary equipped in Wildcard
  • Switch 2 dynamic mode: joycon mode switching stabilized
  • Legend fixes: Alter “Celestial Essence” VFX restored; Caustic research points exploit fixed (Prev. Hotfix); Mad Maggie Tac damage normalization; Wrecking Ball no longer reflects on friendly Mirage decoys; Rampart Amped Wall hex FX restored
  • Shop: new “For You” weekly rotating offers
  • Ranked Drop Zones: Jumpmaster removed — teammates skydive independently
  • Wildcard Respawn notices: smaller announcements, removed per-teammate death popups, new “Last Legend Standing” banner

FAQ

Is Ash still top-tier after 26.1?

She’s noticeably weaker: longer dash cooldown, softer Arc Snare, and removal of Dual Breach. Still playable, but far less forgiving.

How strong is Seer now?

Much stronger in fights. Baseline 75m Passive/Tac range, speed on scan, larger Exhibit with mobility inside, and powerful new upgrades — without the oppressive eight-second silence.

What changed for Duos?

Faster matches with 15 squads, partially closed starting ring, ring-edge dropship, and four closures total.

What’s the biggest Ranked change?

Entry Cost no longer affects Ladder RP — only your match performance drives RP and leaderboard position.

Which Locked Hop-Ups are hardest to unlock now?

Skullpiercer at 600 points and Turbocharger at 600. Several others increased by 100–175 points.
